What form of ID will I need to provide for the exam?
Review the "Candidate Identification and Authentication" section in the Candidate Handbook at https://docs.linuxfoundation.org/tc-docs/certification/If-candidate-handbook and make sure that you satisfy the ID requirements listed there. The value that you enter as your name for the exam is required to match the name printed on the ID. Failure to meet requirements may mean the proctor will not be able to allow you to test and may cause you to forfeit the exam attempt.
How do I make sure my name is correct for the exam?
Log in to the training portal (https://trainingportal.linuxfoundation.org/learn/dashboard), click the Start / Resume button for your certification exam to load the Exam Checklist, and go to the Getting Started section at the top of the checklist.
In the Identity Verification step, make sure the value entered there matches the name exactly as printed on the ID that you will be presenting for the exam reservation.
Changes to the Identity Verification field must be done BEFORE launching an exam reservation; the value cannot be changed once you have launched the exam reservation.
As a double-check: when you are on PSI's scheduling site, you will see your first name in the upper right corner of their site. When you click the down-arrow (caret), you can then go to Account and check the full first and last name values. Those values will be the one that the PSI proctors use, so you can double-check that your name on PSI's scheduling site matches your ID exactly.
Where do I upload or provide my ID for the exam?
Once you launch a reservation and enter the check-in process, the proctor will ask you to present your ID to them via the webcam so that they may confirm your identity against the name you entered for the exam. (You may also choose to upload a copy of your ID during the scheduling process.)
What should I do if my ID does not have my name in Latin characters?
You'll want to enter the name for the exam exactly as it appears on your ID. That means that if your ID does not have your name printed in Latin characters, you'll need to enter the name in the same non-Latin characters for the exam. (Proctors cannot be expected to translate a name into different languages.)
I was required to enter a first and last name when creating the account, but I only have 1 name... what do I do?
Please enter a dot or period (.) in the first or last name field when creating your LF account (or if you have already created it, log in to openprofile.dev and go to Basic Information to update the first or last name field).
Additionally, in the Exam Checklist on the training portal, ensure the Identity Verification step lists just the 1 name printed on your ID.
PSI's proctors will be able to accept that there is a dot/period at the end or beginning of the name, as long as the name on your ID otherwise matches the rest of the name that you entered for the exam.
May I use a digital copy or other copy of my ID?
As per the "Candidate Identification and Authentication" section outlined in the Candidate Handbook, the ID you present must be the original ID and not a copy.
Does my ID have to show an expiration date?
The ID does not need to have an expiration date listed; it just has to be current and not expired.
If the ID does have an expiration date, then that date must be in Arabic numerals.
