What is Tux Rewards membership?
Tux Rewards is the Linux Foundation's free loyalty program for customers who purchase training courses and certification exams. There is no fee to join. Members earn 1 point for every $1 spent, up to a maximum of 500 points per day. Reaching 500 points earns a 50% off coupon code that can be applied to one course, certification exam, bundle, or IT Professional Program.
Key details:
Points earned: 1 point per $1 spent on eligible purchases.
Daily maximum: 500 points per day. If a single day's purchases exceed $500, the member still earns only 500 points for that day, and the excess amount does not roll over to another day.
Reward threshold: 500 points unlocks a 50% discount coupon.
Coupon exclusion: The 50% coupon cannot be applied to the FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) certification.

How do I become a Tux Rewards member?
A customer is automatically enrolled as a Tux Rewards member once they spend $500 with the Linux Foundation on training courses and certification exams. There is no separate sign-up step.
What do I need to do to stay enrolled in Tux Rewards?
To remain enrolled in Tux Rewards, a member needs to make at least one purchase of any amount from the Linux Foundation every year. This annual purchase requirement is separate from the one-year coupon redemption window described below.
How do I redeem my Tux Rewards coupon code?
Tux Rewards members can claim their coupon directly from their Linux Foundation profile. Members will also receive emails alerting them to exclusive member offers throughout the year. To redeem a coupon code:
Sign in to your LF Profile using your LFID. My LF Profile can also be accessed from the Linux Foundation Training website.
Select Manage Profile, then click Purchases, then Coupons in the left-hand menu.
On the My Coupons page, view the list of coupons, discounts, and promotions associated with the account.
Click View Coupon Code to reveal the coupon code in a pop-up window.
Go to the Linux Foundation Education catalog, select the course, certification, bundle, or IT Professional Program to purchase, choose to enroll, and log in to the Linux Foundation account. Paste the coupon code into the discount code box during checkout and complete the purchase.
If a coupon code doesn't work, click the question mark (?) icon in the top right corner of the MyProfile dashboard for help.
How long do I have to redeem my Tux Rewards coupon?
Once a member earns the 50% coupon by reaching 500 points, they have one year from their last eligible purchase to generate and redeem the coupon toward another purchase. If the coupon isn't redeemed within one year of that last eligible purchase, both the coupon and the 500 points that earned it expire.
If my purchase totals more than $500 in one day, do I get more than one coupon?
No. A member earns 1 point per $1 spent, up to a maximum of 500 points per day. If a single day's purchases exceed $500, the member earns 500 points for that day, and the portion of spending above $500 does not carry over to another day or generate additional points. Reaching 500 points earns one 50% discount coupon, which can be used toward any new eligible purchase at training.linuxfoundation.org.
How long does it take for my Tux Rewards points to show up?
After making a qualifying purchase, it can take up to 72 hours for Tux Rewards points to appear in the member's Linux Foundation portal account.
What happens if I refund a purchase?
If a purchase is refunded, that order is disqualified from counting toward the member's Tux Rewards point balance.
Are Tux Rewards points transferable?
Tux Rewards points are not transferable to another person or account, and points from multiple Linux Foundation accounts cannot be combined. However, once a member redeems their points for a coupon code, they are welcome to share that coupon code with someone else to use when registering.
Does an invoice purchase or a redemption code purchase earn Tux Rewards points?
No. Tux Rewards points are not accumulated for purchases made using an invoice or a redemption code.
